Utah Hockey Club vs. Los Angeles Kings Analysis Thread

Nice PK for Utah. Good positioning by everyone on the ice, several blocked shots, and no real dangerous opportunities for the Kings.

Utah back to full strength.

Really nice feed from Maccelli across the slot to Crouse who put one on net. Doesn't go but that's a great chance early.

I like Maccelli up on that third line as opposed to being on the fourth.

Another penalty to Utah but IMO that's a good penalty to take. Breakaway for the Kings and Lamoureux slashes the top of the forwards stick to deny him from being able to do much and Connor Ingram makes the save. That's a heads-up play. Fine with a penalty there.

End of 1st period.

UHC 0
LA Kings 0

Big positive? No goals allowed.
Sizable negative? No goals scored.

Utah needs to stick with it and keep creating. The team has looked better today but is still struggling to light the lamp. Need more from the top 2 lines.

Crouse, Maccelli, and Bjugstad's line has definitely been the most productive for Utah today. Big bodies, great chemistry, stellar creativity and they're knocking on the door to net one. Really nice to have Bjugstad back.

LA Kings score on the power play. That puck changed direction and snuck over Ingram's shoulder.Kings lead 1-0.

Not a bad performance by Utah today but when you can't score, you're going to lose games even if you lead in most other statistical areas like they have.

2-0 Kings.

Good movement from the Kings, a player breaks free and taps it into the open net.

Utah is in some disarray on both ends of the ice. Slumps are really hard.

Clayton Keller with a rocket on a one-timer and they're back in the game.

That's exactly what Utah needed to get back into this. Move the puck, get bodies in front of the net, and rely on your best player to deliver.

Let's see if that opens things up.

2-1 LAK.

Kings score again. Utah lost a defensive zone faceoff, LA quickly moved the puck, and the shooter had way too much space to fire a blistering one-timer.

3-1 LAK

Logan Cooley scores his first goal for the Utah Hockey Club and suddenly its just a one goal game.

LA leads 3-2 with just under 9 minutes left.

Goals aren't always pretty but they count just the same.

Throw pucks to the net, get bodies in front, battle for positioning and you'll get some greaser goals.

Logan Cooley with his first for the Utah Hockey Club.

Another loss for the Utah Hockey Club as they fall to the Kings 3-2.

Definitely some improvement as they finally found the net a few times but still frustrating. They've looked like the better team in 2 of the last 3 games. But some bad key stretches have cost them.
