Utah Hockey Club vs. Dallas Stars Game Thread

Suffocating pressure from the Stars through the first 5 minutes of the game.

Dallas is a very good team, better than their record indicates.

O'Brien isn't flashy but adding him to the third line over the last few games has greatly lifted their energy & ability to put pressure on other teams.

Collectively, they're so much more physical & have been trapping teams with their aggressive forecheck.

They look rejuvenated.

Decent first period for Utah against the Stars.

Both teams had some decent chances, but the goaltenders have stopped everything so far.

0-0 at the end of the first period.

MATIAS MACCELLI SCORES AND THIS GAME IS TIED IN DALLAS.

Phenomenal play from Bjugstad, Crouse, and Maccelli.

Couple tic-tac-toe passes and Maccelli buried it.

First goal since 11/7.

Stars retake the lead.

Whole bunch of traffic in front of Vejmelka and the puck ends up in Utah's net after an unfortunate deflection off of Crouse's skate.

2-1 Dallas midway through the third.

Maccelli is playing with some serious confidence right now.

Nearly assisted Kevin Stenlund after winning the puck back in the O-zone with a stellar poke check.

When he plays with confidence, he's so incredibly dangerous.

The calmness that Sergachev plays with on defense is incredible.

2 on 1 situation but he plays it perfectly by staying with the open skater and picking off the pass.

That's a high-pressure situation and he makes it look so easy. So valuable to have that composure.

Utah has been the better team again in the third, but Dallas is so opportunistic.

They go end-to-end with their passes a lot and can turn nothing into something really fast.

Dallas scores and the Stars win 3-2.

Utah hung around to see if there was goaltender interference that could be challenged but nothing came of it.

Nice to get a point on the road but Dallas certainly has Utah's number this year.

Utah will be back home on Wednesday.
