Utah Hockey Club vs. Anaheim Ducks Analysis Thread

The Utah Hockey Club will play in another home opener against the Ducks tonight.

Lots of high emotion games for the UHC early on. We'll see if that plays a factor tonight.

Utah Hockey Club with a decent start to this game offensively. Getting bodies and pucks to the front of the net as they prefer.

Devils took that away from them on Monday so we'll see if they can get back to their game inside.

Geez, what a move by Strome. Beat three Utah defensemen and set Terry up perfectly for a one-timer.

Ducks lead 1-0 early in the first period.

McBain scores and it's 1-1 in Anaheim! That's exactly what Utah wants. Get bodies in front of the net, get pucks on net, and good things will happen.

1-1 near the midway point of the first period.

They didn't score but that was some unbelievable puck possession by Utah before the penalty was called against Anaheim.

Puck was on a string and the Ducks couldn't touch it.

Utah suddenly has life and will now go on the power play.

Barrett Hayton scores on the power play!

Again, Utah is crashing the net hard and finding success.

What a start to the season for Hayton. He's on pace for the best season of his career.

Utah leads 2-1 with 6 minutes left in the first period.

Missed assignment by Utah in front of their own net and the Ducks cash in.

Game tied 2-2 near the midway point of the second period.

Anaheim scores again after some suffocating possession from the Ducks. They can move it remarkably quick and capitalize.

Ducks lead 3-2 late in the second period.

McBain to the box for roughing.

Bad penalties have plagued Utah early in the season...

It's a similar recipe when Utah struggles. Penalties and an inability to get to the inside.

Pretty interesting stat.

Through 2 periods, Anaheim leads Utah in rush opportunities 6-0. That's significant. When Utah hasn't been able to get set up in the offensive zone, they haven't been productive. They even endured an 8-minute stretch without a shot.

Need to be better.

Heck of a PK by Utah during a 5-on-3 and they follow it up with an odd-man rush that Kesselring absolutely buries.

Tie game in Anaheim!

3-3 with 14 minutes left in the game.

THE CAPTAIN SCORES AND ITS 4-3 IN ANAHEIM.

Utah finally creates a solid rush opportunity and Keller buries it.

What a resilient performance.
